How do you change the layout for a powerpoint slide?

    select the slide you need to change the layout.
    From the Format menu, choose Slide layout. ...
    Use the scroll bar to view all layouts, click the one you want, and then click apply.

    You go to the design tab and then select the theme that you want. You can then change the color of the theme.
